One person's addiction affects a minimum of 10 people.  This includes family, friends, employers, employees, coaches, team mates, teachers... and the list goes on.  All of the people in relationship with the addicted person are affected in some way and in some way can contribute to the loved one's cycle of addiction.
I know how much it hurts to watch your addicted loved one spiral out of control and you feel ​like the enemy.  I also know what it feels like to suffer with substance use disorder (addiction).
I am a granddaughter, daughter, sister, foster parent, wife and ex-wife, cousin and friend of people in either active addiction or recovery.  I am also a person in long-term recovery with more than 25 years of abstinence from drugs and alcohol.
I understand the dilemma of not wanting them to die, while not knowing how to help them get well.

​​Originally, Dr. Maté was speaking about the addict, but I have found this to be true for everyone affected by the cycle of addiction.  I believe in working from the inside out in a compassionate, non-judgemental way.  To heal the outside, we have to work from the inside, even in the crisis of active addiction and alcoholism.

My Experience
My name is Jodi Takhar and I am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (CHt) and a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC).  I am an eternal student and love to learn different methods, strategies and tools to enhance my own healing and my work.  I am also a mom of two beautiful teen girls and a spunky puppy.  I love to paint, write, read and DIY projects.  I find spirituality and the metaphysical fascinating. 
My Focus
I believe we begin to disconnect from our authentic selves as young children to make sure we are loved and cared for.  We give up parts of ourselves and create ways of coping that later create harmful patterns.  What used to serve us, stops working and starts to hurt us.  My job is to support you to healing those wounds and hurts from the root, so you can be your authentic self .

You have all the answers and solutions within you.  You just have a challenging time accessing the beginnings of the patterns because your conscious mind likes familiarity and comfort, keeping you stuck.  I use a combination of counselling and hypnotherapy to help you find the root of the problem or pattern, unravel the beliefs and return to your authentic self.  The process is fast, uncomplicated and transforms lives.
