Heart of the Family™ - Online Support Program
Heart of the Family™ - Online Support Group is a weekly, counsellor-led group that supports family members to share their experience, strength and hope with each other.
The main purpose of the group is for people to develop a base of knowledge about addiction, forge connections with others in similar circumstances, learn they are not alone, and glean support from each other. Through this group, members form a community and support themselves, have a safe place to come where they feel supported and accepted and have a forum where they can ask questions and lend encouragement to each other.
Because of the many barriers families face in attending a face-to-face group, an online forum has been created for families so they don't miss out on community support because of stigma, shame, location or circumstance.
Once a family member has completed the education portion of Heart of the Family, they can register for Heart of the Family - Online Support Group.
